Hi all-

We have so many projects and activities going on at the state League office
that I thought it might be useful if I provided a summary for you to keep it
all straight.



  1.. Sign ups for May 5th Albany on the Record in Albany are still being
accepted. People can sign up directly online through our website or by
calling the office at 518-465-4162 or emailing may5 at lwvny.org. There is a
new website for the event, www.albanyontherecord.org, where people can watch
which leaders have accepted or declined our offer to participate.
  2.. The state League raffle tickets are due in the office by May 5th.
Remember that both your local League and the state League benefit from this
fundraiser, so encourage your members to sell more tickets (more tickets are
available from the state office, too).
  3.. Reservations to attend the May 14th Spring Fling Cocktail Party in NYC
are also still being accepted. Call the state League office to make a
reservation.
  4.. Council Kit will be emailed to all local League Presidents later this
week. This includes the budget and a proposed 4 month concurrence study
which needs local Leagues’ approval. Please schedule time at a meeting in
May to discuss the budget and proposal. The responses are due by June 18 to
the state League office.
  5.. Please send the names of your delegates to the national Convention in
June to the state League office – either email Laura at lwvny.org or call
518-465-4162. We also have created a new page (from the homepage) on the
state League’s website for info on the convention – and we will list the NY
delegates there. Check it out for info on caucuses, budget, etc. NYS is
sponsoring a couple of caucuses so get the info on our website!
  6.. Don’t forget to mention at your Annual Meetings that the state League
has created a new society, the 1919 Society; members include anyone who has
listed the state League in their will. People just need to inform the state
League that it is listed; no verification is required or amount specified.
So, encourage your members to help keep the future of the League strong.
  7.. Stay informed with state League activities through our website,
www.lwvny.org or through our facebook page (linked on the website’s
homepage). Check these out at least once a week – we are constantly updating
the sites with info and photos. Stay in touch with the League!
