Carol:
I have not had any experience with bills related to light pollution. Maybe Roberta Wiernik, LWVNYS Natural Resources Specialist could offer you some insight (e-mail at RFWiernik at aol.com). On a state level I do know that both houses passed bills related to light pollution in 2001, but did not get signed by Pataki. Updated bills were introduced in 2003, but did not make it through the Senate.

One of our towns is considering a dark sky bill. Although I am fairly certain that, in concept, we can support the bill, I am a little concerned over the "nuts and bolts" of its terms. Does anyone have this kind of expertise, or know of someone who can vet the bill for us.
Thanks.
